About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Mine Operations Manager to oversee all day-to-day operations at their significant mining site near Coventry . This leadership role is critical for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction and processing of mineral resources. You will be responsible for managing a diverse team, implementing operational strategies, and maintaining compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities and a proven history of success in managing large-scale mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all aspects of daily mine production, including drilling, blasting, and material handling.
- Develop and implement operational plans to meet production targets, optimise efficiency, and control costs.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, operators, and maintenance personnel.
- Manage operational budgets, equipment maintenance schedules, and resource allocation effectively.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety consciousness, and operational excellence within the mine.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations, with at least 5 years in a management capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in open-pit or underground mining methods and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of mine safety regulations and best practices.
- Proven ability to manage large teams, budgets, and complex operational challenges in the Coventry area.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
