About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Mine Operations Manager to oversee all day-to-day operations at their Leicester facility. This critical role involves ensuring the efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible extraction of resources. You will lead a dedicated team, manage budgets, and implement strategic initiatives to optimize production and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in mining management and a deep understanding of geological surveying, extraction techniques, and regulatory compliance within the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational plans to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Manage and mentor a diverse workforce, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee all aspects of mine site operations, including drilling, blasting, hauling, and processing.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Liaise with geologists, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure optimal resource utilization and mine planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mining operations, with at least 3 years in a management capacity.
• Demonstrated knowledge of modern mining techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Strong understanding of UK mining regulations and environmental compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in mine planning software and operational management systems.
