About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Mine Operations Manager to oversee all operational aspects of their mining facility near Coventry . This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable extraction of resources, managing a diverse team of professionals and operational staff. You will play a pivotal role in implementing strategic operational plans, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities and a proven track record in managing complex mining projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive operational plans to meet production targets and budget constraints.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies across the Coventry site.
- Supervise, mentor, and manage all operational personnel, including supervisors, equipment operators, and maintenance crews.
- Oversee the maintenance and effective utilization of all mining equipment and infrastructure.
- Implement process improvements and technological advancements to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Manage contractor relationships and ensure work is performed to specified standards and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in mine operations management, with a significant portion in leadership roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in underground or surface mining techniques and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of mine safety regulations and environmental compliance in the UK .
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize operational performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a large workforce.
- Relevant degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering Management, or a closely related field.
