About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mine Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day activities at their site near Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This hands-on role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of miners, ensure production targets are met, and maintain stringent safety standards. You will be responsible for the efficient execution of mining plans, equipment operation, and workforce management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operational supervision within the mining industry and a commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment. This position is essential for the smooth functioning of our operations in Staffordshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
• Ensure all mining activities are conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor production levels and equipment performance, addressing any issues promptly.
• Manage and train mining crews, promoting teamwork and a strong safety culture.
• Conduct daily pre-shift safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Maintain accurate production and safety records.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mine supervision or a related operational leadership role within the mining sector .
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation.
• First Aid certification and relevant mining qualifications are advantageous.
