Mine Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Planner to join their team in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This role is fundamental to optimising the extraction of mineral resources, involving the development of short, medium, and long-term mine plans. You will utilise advanced planning software to design mine layouts, production schedules, and resource utilization strategies, ensuring efficiency, safety, and economic viability. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the operational future of the mine, collaborating with various departments to achieve production targets and strategic objectives within the UK mining landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed mine plans, including open-pit or underground layouts and sequences.
• Create production schedules, forecasting material movement, equipment requirements, and personnel needs.
• Optimise resource extraction to maximise yield and minimise waste.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses for proposed mining plans.
• Liaise with geologists, engineers, and operations personnel to ensure alignment of plans with site conditions and objectives.
• Ensure all mine plans comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, or similar.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for complex planning scenarios.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
