About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Mine Planning Engineer to join their leading mining company, operating in a fully remote capacity. You will work closely with site-based teams and other remote specialists to develop short-term and long-term mine plans, utilizing advanced modeling and simulation techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize detailed mine plans, including production schedules, stope designs, and waste management strategies.
- Utilize mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, MineSight) to create 3D models and simulate various mining scenarios.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects and optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers, survey teams, and production personnel to ensure plans are technically sound and executable.
- Monitor mine performance against plan, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure all mine planning activities comply with safety regulations, environmental policies, and best practices within a remote operational framework.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and design, preferably in open-pit or underground mining operations.
- Proficiency with industry-standard mine planning and modeling software.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
