Our client is actively seeking a strategic and technically proficient Mine Planning Engineer to join their team in Oxford . This critical role involves the long-term and short-term planning of mining operations to ensure efficient extraction, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. You will collaborate closely with geology, operations, and engineering teams to develop detailed mine plans that drive productivity and profitability. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update comprehensive short-term and long-term mine plans.
- Optimize mine sequencing, production schedules, and material movement strategies.
- Work with geological models to ensure resource areas are effectively planned for extraction.
- Conduct technical studies and economic analyses to support planning decisions.
- Ensure mine plans comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with operations teams to implement plans effectively and provide technical support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and design.
- Proficiency with mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, MinePlan).
- Strong understanding of open pit or underground mining methods.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret geological data and translate it into practical mine plans.
