Mine Planning Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mine Planning Technician to support their mining activities near Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK . This hybrid role will focus on assisting mine engineers and geologists in the preparation and execution of mine plans. You will be responsible for data management, generating reports, and utilizing specialized software to create and update mine layouts and schedules. This position is crucial for ensuring efficient and safe resource extraction within the mining industry and offers a great opportunity for an individual with strong technical skills and an interest in mining operations .

Key Responsibilities

• Assist mine engineers and geologists in the development and refinement of mine plans and schedules.
• Manage and organize geological and survey data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Utilize mine planning software to generate 2D and 3D visualizations of mine sites, including designs and progress tracking.
• Prepare reports on production, drilling, and resource estimates for management review.
• Support the implementation of mine plans by providing necessary documentation and updates.
• Conduct site visits as required to gather data and verify plan adherence, complementing remote planning tasks.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field (e.g., Mining Technology, Civil Engineering Technology).
• 1-3 years of experience in mine planning, surveying, or a related technical role within the mining sector .
• Proficiency with CAD software and mine planning tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, Vulcan).
• Strong data management and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work setting.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
