About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Mine Safety Officer to champion health and safety initiatives at their facilities near Stoke-on-Trent . This vital role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for all employees. You will be responsible for conducting safety inspections, delivering training programs, and investigating incidents to prevent future occurrences. This position requires a dedicated individual committed to maintaining the highest safety standards in the demanding Staffordshire mining landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety management systems.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver engaging and effective health and safety training to all personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation and industry standards.

Requirements

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safety procedures.
• Excellent understanding of relevant H&S legislation and best practices.
• Strong presentation and training delivery skills.
