Mine Surveyor - Cadastral and Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Surveyor to join their team supporting operations and exploration activities near Nottingham . This role is essential for accurately mapping underground and surface mining areas, conducting boundary surveys, and providing precise spatial data crucial for planning, safety, and resource management. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and software to ensure the integrity of spatial information. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of geodetic principles, cadastral surveying, and their application within the challenging environment of a mining site, contributing to efficient and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct precise cadastral surveys and boundary determinations for mining leases and permits.
• Perform underground and surface surveys to map mine workings, infrastructure, and geological features.
• Utilize advanced surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS/GNSS, and laser scanners.
• Process and analyze survey data, creating accurate maps, plans, and digital models.
• Ensure all survey work complies with legal requirements and company standards.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and mine managers to provide necessary spatial data.
• Maintain surveying equipment and ensure its calibration and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Qualified Surveyor with a degree or professional qualification in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mine surveying or related fields (e.g., construction, civil engineering surveying).
• Proficiency with surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson Survey).
• Experience with various surveying instruments and techniques, including underground surveying.
• Strong understanding of geodetic principles, coordinate systems, and map projections.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
