Mine Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mine Surveyor to manage all aspects of surveying and spatial data acquisition at their mining operations near Liverpool . This role is fundamental to accurate mine planning, production monitoring, and ensuring compliance with geological and engineering specifications. You will utilize state-of-the-art surveying equipment and techniques to create and maintain precise maps and models of the mine workings. The successful candidate will work closely with mine engineers and management to provide essential spatial data that supports efficient and safe mining operations, ensuring the integrity of the mine's physical structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic and underground surveys using total stations, GPS, drones, and laser scanners.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks within the mine environment.
• Prepare detailed survey plans, cross-sections, and 3D models of mine workings.
• Monitor and report on mine progression, volumes of material moved, and excavation compliance.
• Ensure all survey data is accurate, properly documented, and integrated into mine planning software.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support mine design and operational adjustments.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mine surveyor, preferably in underground operations.
• Proficiency with industry-standard surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, Vulcan) and hardware.
• Strong understanding of geological and mining principles related to surveying.
• Ability to work independently and in challenging underground conditions.
• Excellent attention to detail and data management skills.
