About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Mine Surveyor to join their team based near Bristol . This role is essential for accurately mapping and measuring underground and surface mining areas, ensuring that operations are conducted within planned boundaries and legal requirements. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to provide critical data for mine planning, design, and operational control. This is a hands-on position for a professional who values precision and accuracy in a dynamic mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys of underground and surface mine workings, including setting out, monitoring, and as-built surveys.
• Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Process survey data and produce accurate mine plans, cross-sections, and volumetric calculations.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for mine surveying.
• Collaborate with geologists and engineers to provide spatial data for mine planning and design.
• Monitor ground movement and stability, reporting any significant changes.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Mine Surveyor or in a similar surveying role within the mining industry.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and software (e.g., AutoCAD, 3D modeling software).
• Strong understanding of mine surveying principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in challenging underground and surface environments.
