About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Mine Surveyor to join their team in Sheffield . This role is essential for accurately mapping underground and surface mine workings, controlling mine development, and providing precise survey data for planning and operational purposes. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to ensure the integrity and safety of the mining environment. This is a hands-on role critical to the successful and precise execution of mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate underground and surface surveys using the latest surveying equipment and technology (e.g., total stations, GPS, laser scanners).
• Establish and maintain survey control networks for mining operations.
• Prepare and update mine plans, sections, and volumes based on survey data.
• Monitor and control mine development, ensuring adherence to planned layouts and boundaries.
• Conduct stockpile and reserve calculations based on survey data.
• Ensure all survey work complies with relevant industry standards and company procedures.
• Maintain survey equipment and calibration records.
• Liaise with geologists, engineers, and operations personnel to provide timely and accurate survey information.

Requirements

• Qualified Mine Surveyor or relevant degree/diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in underground mining.
• Proficiency with surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center) and hardware.
• Strong understanding of mining layouts, geological structures, and their impact on surveying.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a mine environment.
