About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their dynamic team in Birmingham . This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, health, and productivity of underground mining operations through effective environmental control. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring ventilation systems to manage air quality, temperature, and humidity. This hybrid position offers a balance of remote analysis and on-site collaboration, allowing you to contribute significantly to operational efficiency and worker well-being within the West Midlands region. You will be a key player in maintaining optimal working conditions in challenging underground environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize mine ventilation networks using specialized software.
• Conduct site visits to inspect ventilation infrastructure, monitor airflow, and assess environmental conditions.
• Develop and implement strategies for dust control, gas management, and temperature regulation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations for underground mines.
• Troubleshoot ventilation system failures and propose effective solutions to maintain operational continuity.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation strategies into overall mine design and production schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering.
• Proficiency with ventilation modelling software (e.g., VENTSIM, MineCAD).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality principles.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and practical field experience in underground mining environments.
