About the Role

Our client requires an experienced Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their team, providing crucial expertise for their operations near Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK . This role is essential for ensuring a safe, healthy, and productive underground working environment by designing, implementing, and managing effective mine ventilation systems. You will work closely with mine management and safety officers to optimize airflow, control dust and gas levels, and maintain compliance with stringent regulatory standards. This is a hands-on position vital to the well-being of personnel and the operational success of the mining projects .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain mine ventilation systems to ensure optimal airflow and environmental conditions.
• Conduct regular surveys and monitoring of ventilation networks, air quality, and temperature.
• Analyze ventilation data and implement strategies to control dust, gases, and thermal comfort.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations pertaining to mine ventilation.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine design.
• Troubleshoot ventilation issues and develop solutions to maintain system integrity and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on ventilation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably in underground mining operations .
• Proficiency with ventilation modeling software (e.g., Ventsim, Ventsim DESIGN).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality management in mining environments.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation for mining ventilation.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
