About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their team in Derby, Derbyshire . This role is vital for ensuring the health and safety of personnel by maintaining optimal air quality, temperature, and pressure within the mine workings. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of mine ventilation systems, including surveys, system optimization, and compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a strong understanding of airflow dynamics and a commitment to creating a safe and productive underground environment in Derby .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain mine ventilation systems and associated equipment.
• Conduct regular ventilation surveys to monitor air quality, temperature, and airflow rates.
• Analyze ventilation data to identify potential risks and optimize system performance.
• Develop and implement dust control and gas monitoring strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mine ventilation.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine design.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on ventilation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering .
• Strong knowledge of mine airflow dynamics, fan technology, and air quality monitoring.
• Experience with ventilation modeling software (e.g., Ventsim, VentSim DESIGN).
• Understanding of underground mining operations and associated safety challenges.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
