About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their operations near Bristol . This essential role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining effective ventilation systems to ensure a safe and healthy underground working environment. You will be responsible for air quality monitoring, thermal environment control, and dust suppression, working closely with mine operations and safety teams. This position requires a blend of field assessments and strategic planning to optimize airflow and environmental conditions within the mine.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and manage underground mine ventilation systems to ensure adequate airflow and air quality.
- Conduct regular surveys of the ventilation system, monitoring air quantity, velocity, and contaminant levels.
- Analyze thermal conditions and implement strategies for cooling or heating as required.
- Develop and implement dust control and suppression strategies to meet regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mine ventilation.
- Work collaboratively with mine management, safety officers, and other engineering disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on ventilation.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, particularly in underground mining.
- Proficiency with mine ventilation software and CFD modeling .
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality standards.
- Experience with ventilation surveys, monitoring equipment, and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a mine environment.
