About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their team, working from a hybrid model with a base in Reading . This crucial role involves designing, implementing, and managing effective mine ventilation systems to ensure safe and healthy working conditions. You will be responsible for monitoring air quality, controlling dust and gas levels, and optimizing airflow to meet the specific needs of various mining environments. Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize mine ventilation systems, including fan selection, ducting, and airflow distribution.
• Conduct surveys and monitoring of underground air quality, temperature, and humidity.
• Develop strategies for controlling airborne contaminants such as dust, methane, and other gases.
• Ensure compliance with ventilation standards and regulatory requirements for mine safety.
• Troubleshoot ventilation system issues and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with mine planning and production teams to integrate ventilation designs with operational schedules.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on ventilation.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, with a strong understanding of underground mining methods.
• Proficiency in mine ventilation software and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling.
• Knowledge of air quality monitoring equipment and techniques.
• Experience with dust and gas control strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
