About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Mine Ventilation Engineer to ensure optimal environmental conditions within their Oxfordshire mining operations. This critical role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing mine ventilation systems to maintain safe air quality, control temperature, and manage dust and gases. You will be responsible for system analysis, equipment selection, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement to support both worker safety and operational efficiency. This position is essential for the health and productivity of our underground workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize mine ventilation systems to meet air quality, temperature, and dust control standards.
- Conduct ventilation surveys, airflow measurements, and gas monitoring.
- Specify, select, and manage the installation of ventilation fans, ducting, and related equipment.
- Develop and implement ventilation plans and strategies, including emergency procedures.
- Troubleshoot ventilation issues and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with mine planning and safety teams to ensure integrated operational planning.
Requirements
- Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on ventilation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering , preferably in underground mines.
- Strong understanding of ventilation principles, thermodynamics, and air quality management.
- Experience with ventilation modeling software (e.g., Ventsim, Ventgraph).
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations pertaining to mine environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
