About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their team in Liverpool . This crucial role focuses on ensuring safe and efficient underground mining environments through comprehensive ventilation system design, analysis, and management. You will be responsible for maintaining optimal air quality, temperature, and pressure conditions within the mine workings, protecting the health and safety of personnel. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity within the vital mining sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, model, and optimize underground mine ventilation systems to meet air quality, thermal, and pressure requirements.
- Conduct site surveys and measurements of airflow, dust levels, and gas concentrations.
- Develop and implement ventilation monitoring programs and associated reporting.
- Specify and procure ventilation equipment, including fans, ducting, and auxiliary systems.
- Analyze ventilation network performance using specialized software and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mine ventilation.
- Collaborate with mine planning, safety, and operational teams to integrate ventilation strategies effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on ventilation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, particularly in underground mining.
- Proficiency with mine ventilation modelling software (e.g., Ventsim, GOLDSIM).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality management principles.
- Experience with ventilation surveys, fan performance testing, and dust/gas monitoring.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
