About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their operational team based in Belfast . You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of mine ventilation systems to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. This role requires close collaboration with mine management, safety officers, and operational staff. You will play a critical role in maintaining optimal air quality and temperature conditions within the underground mining environment, contributing to the overall success and safety compliance of the mine operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain mine ventilation systems, including fans, ducting, and auxiliary ventilation.
• Conduct airflow surveys and analyze ventilation network performance using specialized software.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations regarding air quality, dust, and gas levels.
• Develop and implement strategies for temperature control and dust suppression within the mine.
• Train operational staff on ventilation procedures and equipment operation.
• Collaborate with mine planning and engineering teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering .
• Proficiency in ventilation modeling software (e.g., Ventsim, Ventsim);
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mine environmental control.
• Knowledge of relevant mining regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
