About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized and knowledgeable Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their operational team near Sheffield, South Yorkshire . This role is essential for ensuring safe and efficient working environments within underground mining operations through the design, implementation, and management of ventilation systems. You will be responsible for maintaining air quality, temperature control, and dust suppression, playing a critical role in worker health and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize mine ventilation systems, including airflow networks, fans, and auxiliary ventilation.
• Conduct airflow measurements and analysis to assess system performance and identify deficiencies.
• Develop and implement strategies for dust control, gas management, and temperature regulation.
• Ensure compliance with mine ventilation regulations and health and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot ventilation-related issues and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on ventilation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably in underground mining.
• Proficiency with mine ventilation simulation software (e.g., Ventsim, Numlock).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality monitoring.
• Knowledge of mine gases, dust dynamics, and their health impacts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a mine environment.
