About the Role

Our client is actively searching for an experienced Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their team, offering a hybrid work arrangement based out of Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This critical role ensures the health and safety of underground mine personnel by designing, implementing, and managing effective ventilation systems. You will be responsible for maintaining optimal air quality, temperature, and pressure conditions deep within the mine, utilizing advanced modeling and monitoring techniques. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring compliance with stringent ventilation standards and contributing to the overall safety and productivity of the mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize underground mine ventilation networks to ensure adequate airflow and air quality.
• Conduct regular air quality monitoring and analysis, including dust, gas, and temperature measurements.
• Develop and implement ventilation control strategies to manage contaminants and maintain safe working environments.
• Specify and oversee the installation and maintenance of ventilation fans, ducting, and other equipment.
• Prepare detailed ventilation reports, including network simulations and compliance assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering.
• Proficiency with mine ventilation simulation software (e.g., Ventsim, VentSim).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and contaminant transport principles.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations pertaining to underground mine environments.
