About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and technically skilled Mine Ventilation Technician to support their operations near Derby, Derbyshire . This role is vital for maintaining a safe and healthy underground working environment by monitoring and assisting with the upkeep of mine ventilation systems. You will conduct regular measurements of air quality, pressure, and flow rates, ensuring that environmental conditions meet regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with ventilation equipment and a strong understanding of health and safety protocols within a mining context. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular ventilation surveys , measuring air velocity, pressure, and gas concentrations (e.g., methane, CO2).
• Operate and maintain portable and fixed monitoring equipment.
• Assist engineers in the installation, repair, and testing of ventilation systems, including fans and ducting.
• Record and report survey data accurately and promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations pertaining to mine atmosphere.
• Identify and report any potential issues or deficiencies in the ventilation system.

Requirements

• Experience as a technician or operator within a mining or industrial environment.
• Basic understanding of mine ventilation principles and air quality monitoring.
• Familiarity with relevant monitoring equipment and safety procedures.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills for data recording and reporting.
