About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mineral Processing Engineer to optimize and manage their processing operations near Derby . This role is central to ensuring the efficient and effective recovery of valuable minerals from extracted ore. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting processing circuits, analyzing operational data, and driving improvements in recovery rates, product quality, and cost efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of physical and chemical separation techniques applied within the mining industry .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
- Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale test work to evaluate new processing technologies and improve existing ones.
- Analyze plant performance data (e.g., throughput, recovery, reagent consumption) and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance mineral recovery and product quality.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to plant personnel.
- Manage process control systems and ensure efficient use of reagents and utilities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards in processing operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing operations or research and development.
- Strong knowledge of physical and chemical separation processes for various ore types.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet) and data analysis tools.
- Experience with plant operations, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
