About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Mineral Processing Engineer to join their operational team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for optimizing the processes involved in extracting valuable minerals from ore. You will be responsible for the design, operation, and troubleshooting of processing plants, focusing on efficiency, recovery rates, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mineralogy, metallurgy, and process engineering, with a passion for improving plant performance. This is a site-based position requiring a hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
- Monitor plant performance, analyze metallurgical data, and implement improvements to enhance recovery and grade.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and identify root causes to minimize downtime and waste.
- Develop and manage process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality.
- Collaborate with geologists and operations managers to align processing strategies with mine output.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing plant operations.
- Strong knowledge of physical and chemical separation techniques.
- Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis software.
- Experience with health, safety, and environmental standards in processing plants.
