Mineral Processing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mineral Processing Engineer to contribute to their operations, offering a hybrid working model based near Norwich . This role is focused on optimizing the processes involved in extracting valuable minerals from ore, ensuring maximum recovery and product quality. You will analyze process data, conduct trials, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. The position requires a strong understanding of metallurgical principles and processing technologies, working within a team dedicated to innovative solutions in mineral extraction in Norfolk.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize mineral processing circuits (crushing, grinding, flotation, etc.) for improved performance.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale test work to evaluate new processing technologies and methodologies.
• Develop and implement process control strategies to maintain optimal operating conditions.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and identify root causes to minimize downtime and maximize recovery.
• Prepare technical reports on process performance, including recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with site operations, geology, and engineering teams to support project development and execution.

Requirements

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing or extractive metallurgy.
• Proven experience with various mineral processing techniques and equipment.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry).
• Knowledge of assaying and mineralogy principles.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills, adaptable to a hybrid work schedule in the Norwich area.
