About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mineral Processing Engineer to join their processing plant operations near Nottingham . This role is critical for optimizing the extraction and recovery of valuable minerals from ore through various physical and chemical processes. You will be responsible for designing, operating, and troubleshooting comminution, flotation, leaching, and other separation circuits to maximize yield and product quality. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to apply their expertise in metallurgical processes within a key mining operation .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
- Conduct metallurgical test work and pilot plant studies to evaluate and improve process performance.
- Analyze process data to identify opportunities for yield improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced efficiency.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to maintain optimal plant performance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards within the processing plant.
- Collaborate with geologists and mine engineers to understand ore characteristics and their impact on processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing or metallurgical operations, preferably in base metals or precious metals .
- Strong understanding of physical separation principles (crushing, grinding, screening, flotation).
- Experience with hydrometallurgical processes (leaching, solvent extraction, electrowinning) is a plus.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
