About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Mineral Processing Engineer to join their team, operating with a hybrid model based in Southampton . This role is central to optimizing the extraction and concentration of valuable minerals from raw ore. You will apply your expertise in comminution, classification, flotation, and other separation techniques to enhance recovery rates and product quality. Your work will involve both on-site plant analysis and remote data evaluation, contributing to the efficiency and economic success of our processing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a range of commodities and advance innovative processing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot mineral processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, screening, and separation processes.
- Conduct pilot plant testing and laboratory analysis to evaluate new processing technologies and improve existing ones.
- Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality and maximize recovery.
- Monitor plant performance data, analyse trends, and recommend operational adjustments for efficiency gains.
- Prepare technical reports, process flowsheets, and equipment specifications for new installations and upgrades.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing operations, with hands-on experience in various commodities.
- Strong knowledge of mineralogy, physical and chemical separation principles, and process simulation software.
- Experience with process automation and data acquisition systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, with both site visits and remote analysis required.
