About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Mineral Processing Engineer to join their operational team based in Southampton . This role is vital for optimizing the recovery and quality of valuable minerals from extracted ore. You will be responsible for designing, operating, and troubleshooting mineral processing plants, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal environmental impact. Working closely with metallurgists and plant operators, you will drive process improvements and technological advancements. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated engineer to contribute to a key stage of the mining value chain in a hands-on capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and commission mineral processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching.
- Optimize existing plant operations to improve recovery, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Conduct process simulation and modeling to identify areas for improvement and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Oversee plant performance, monitor key process parameters, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to strict health, safety, and environmental standards within the processing facility.
- Collaborate with research and development teams on new process technologies and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in mineral processing operations or design.
- Strong knowledge of physical separation processes and chemical extraction techniques.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimFloat).
- Experience in analysing and interpreting metallurgical test results.
