About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Mining Engineer with a strong focus on operational efficiency to join their team in Glasgow . This role involves overseeing and optimizing day-to-day mining operations, ensuring productivity, safety, and compliance with environmental standards. You will work closely with site personnel, manage resources, and implement innovative solutions to enhance extraction processes. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily mining activities, including drilling, blasting, and material handling.
- Supervise mine operations personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Monitor production targets and equipment performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Implement and manage ore control and mine planning strategies.
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in the development and management of the mine's operating budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in mine operations management.
- Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, Deswik) and operational monitoring systems.
- Solid understanding of underground and surface mining methods and techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing a diverse workforce.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to mining.
