About the Role
Our client is seeking a versatile and skilled Mining Engineer to contribute to their diverse projects near Liverpool . This role involves applying engineering principles to the design, development, and management of mining operations, ensuring efficient and safe extraction of mineral resources. You will be involved in planning, technical analysis, and problem-solving, working across both office-based design tasks and necessary site-based support. This hybrid position offers the chance to work on challenging projects within the UK mining sector , contributing your technical expertise to a dynamic team and playing a part in the responsible development of mineral assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize mining methods, including underground layouts or open-pit designs.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects or expansions.
- Develop and manage mine production schedules and resource allocation.
- Apply engineering principles to solve operational problems and improve efficiency.
- Ensure all mining activities comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mining engineering, with experience in either underground or open-pit operations.
- Proficiency in mine design and planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac).
- Strong understanding of rock mechanics, mine surveying, and geological principles.
- Experience with mine safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
