About the Role

Our client seeks a strategic and results-oriented Mining Operations Manager to oversee key aspects of their mining division, based in Coventry . This hybrid role requires a balance of on-site leadership and remote strategic planning, focusing on optimizing operational efficiency, ensuring safety compliance, and driving productivity across various mine sites. You will be instrumental in implementing innovative operational strategies and managing budgets to achieve company targets, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the operational teams, and playing a pivotal part in the company's growth and success in the UK mining industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational plans to meet production targets and cost objectives within allocated budgets.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Manage and lead a diverse team of mine workers, supervisors, and engineers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Oversee the procurement and maintenance of mining equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with exploration, engineering, and finance departments to ensure integrated project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience of at least 7 years in managing mining operations, with a strong emphasis on production and safety.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing large teams and complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of mining methods, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with operational budgeting and cost control measures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
