Mining Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Mining Operations Manager to oversee the strategic and operational aspects of their mining interests. Based in Coventry , you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable extraction operations, managing a multidisciplinary team, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a blend of strong leadership, technical expertise in mining engineering, and a keen understanding of regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship. You will play a crucial role in optimizing production, managing resources effectively, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our client's mining ventures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive operational plans to meet production targets and budgetary goals.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all mining sites.
• Manage and mentor site managers, engineers, and operational staff, fostering a culture of performance and safety.
• Oversee the procurement and efficient utilization of resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiency and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with exploration, geology, and processing departments to ensure integrated mine planning and execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven track record of at least 10 years in progressively responsible roles within the mining industry , with significant experience in operations management.
• Demonstrated expertise in mine planning, production management, and equipment operation .
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and risk management in mining.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with various mining methods and technologies.
