Mining Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven and experienced Mining Operations Manager to oversee their key mining site near Stoke-on-Trent . This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable extraction of resources. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of mine operations, including production planning, workforce management, equipment utilization, and adherence to strict health, safety, and environmental standards. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an individual with a proven track record in managing complex mining operations and fostering a high-performance team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage day-to-day mining operations to achieve production targets safely and cost-effectively.
• Develop and implement strategic operational plans, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Oversee the maintenance and effective utilization of mining equipment and machinery.
• Manage and mentor a diverse team of operational staff, including supervisors and frontline workers.
• Continuously identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement best practices in mining.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Mine Management, or a closely related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mining operations, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in managing complex underground or open-pit mining operations.
• Strong understanding of mining technologies , equipment, and geological principles.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
• Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
