Mining Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a results-oriented Mining Operations Manager to oversee and direct all operational aspects of their mining activities in Coventry, West Midlands . This senior leadership role is critical for ensuring that mining operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. You will be responsible for managing a diverse team, optimizing production processes, and implementing best practices to achieve ambitious targets within the competitive mining landscape. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strategic thinking and a deep understanding of mine operations management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for mining operations to meet production targets and financial goals.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the mining site.
• Manage and mentor site supervisors and operational staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the efficient use of mining equipment, resources, and technology to maximize productivity.
• Monitor operational performance, analyse data, and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Liaise with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors, and senior management, on operational matters.

Requirements

• A relevant degree in Mining Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, or a related field.
• Significant experience (8+ years) in mining operations management , including at least 3 years in a senior supervisory role.
• Demonstrable track record of improving operational efficiency and safety performance in a mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of underground and surface mining techniques, equipment, and processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in mining software and operational planning tools.
