Mining Operations Supervisor

About the Role

Our client requires a dedicated and experienced Mining Operations Supervisor to oversee daily activities at their site near Glasgow . This role demands strong leadership qualities and a deep understanding of mining processes to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operations. You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled personnel, directing work activities, and upholding the company's stringent standards for safety, quality, and environmental stewardship. This is a hands-on position critical to the successful execution of mining plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the daily activities of mining crews, including operators, technicians, and labourers.
• Ensure all mining operations are conducted in strict adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor production targets and operational performance, implementing measures to improve efficiency and output.
• Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and regular safety inspections, identifying and rectifying hazards promptly.
• Manage equipment usage and maintenance coordination to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance, geology, and engineering, to ensure smooth workflow.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of mining methods, equipment, and safety procedures relevant to surface or underground operations.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications in mining operations are highly desirable.
