Mobile Fabric Engineer – London

Location: London Salary: Competitive Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm Hours: 40 hours per week Overtime: Enhanced overtime rates available

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Fabric Engineer to join a well-established maintenance and building services business operating across London.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled Carpenter or Painter/Decorator with experience working on heritage buildings and a strong eye for detail. You’ll be responsible for carrying out a combination of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring all works are completed to a consistently high standard.

The Role

As a Mobile Fabric Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance works.

• Undertaking carpentry, painting and general fabric maintenance.

• Identifying and reporting potential faults, defects and areas requiring attention.

• Liaising professionally with clients, administrators and coordinators.

• Working independently while also supporting the wider maintenance team.

• Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and within required timescales.

• Keeping work areas clean and tidy following completion.

• Completing relevant paperwork and accurately recording works undertaken.

• Reporting completed works and any additional issues identified.

• Carrying out other reasonable works as directed by management.

• Maintaining a professional approach and providing excellent customer service.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 3 years' experience in carpentry or painting/decorating.

• Experience working on heritage buildings.

• A relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification in either Carpentry or Painting.

• A valid CSCS Card, with a CSCS Heritage Card highly desirable.

• Experience across other trades would be advantageous.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.

• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.

• Flexibility to work weekends and out-of-hours when required, with the right to work in the UK.
