Relief Concrete Plant Supervisor
South West (Ideally based around Bristol)
£38,000 - £38,500 per annum. Permanent, full‑time, 48‑hour working week with time and a half paid for all hours over 48. Company van provided for business use.
Overview
We’re recruiting for a Relief Concrete Plant Supervisor to support multiple ready‑mix concrete plants across the South West. This role will oversee production, safety, and operations while ensuring high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
- Operate computerised batching systems to produce ready‑mix concrete to customer specifications.
- Support Production Managers with the day‑to‑day running of multiple concrete plants.
- Carry out daily inspections of safety‑critical equipment.
- Operate loading shovels to replenish aggregate stock.
- Monitor stock levels and order raw materials when required.
- Manage the safe movement of mixer, tipper and cement tanker vehicles on site.
- Supervise contractors and ensure work is completed safely.
- Complete environmental compliance checks and maintain accurate records.
- Drive high standards of housekeeping and carry out routine preventative maintenance.
- Coach and support operational teams while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture across all sites.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a concrete plant, quarry, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Good mechanical and/or electrical understanding of plant machinery.
- Proactive, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Flexibility to travel across multiple sites within the South West.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
