Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate mortgage loan applications, assessing credit risk, income stability, and collateral value.

- Ensure all underwriting decisions comply with relevant federal and state lending regulations, as well as internal policies.
- Communicate effectively with loan officers, brokers, and clients to gather necessary information and explain underwriting decisions.
- Approve, decline, or counter-offer loan applications based on established lending guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwriting decisions and justifications within the loan origination system.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mortgage Underwriter or in a similar lending role.
- Thorough understanding of mortgage lending regulations and underwriting principles.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in using loan origination software and related underwriting tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
