MOT Tester
position based in
Huddersfield
. Working within a modern and well-equipped workshop, you will be joining a friendly and supportive team with an excellent reputation for quality workmanship and customer service. Working hours are
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm
, with
no weekend work, part time hours
may also be considered. You will be rewarded with a
basic salary of up to £19 per hour (circa £41,000)
, alongside excellent working conditions and genuine long-term career prospects.
Job Duties Include:
Carry out MOT tests on Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles in accordance with current DVSA standards and regulations.
Use the DVSA MOT Testing Service (MTS) to accurately record test results, issue certificates and document advisory items.
Conduct vehicle inspections thoroughly, ensuring all vehicles meet roadworthiness and safety requirements.
Clearly explain MOT failures, advisories and repair recommendations to customers in a professional and easy-to-understand manner.
Maintain responsibility for the MOT testing bay, ensuring all testing equipment is calibrated, maintained and compliant.
Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance where required to support workshop productivity.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Health & Safety regulations.
Complete all job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Keep your DVSA Tester status up to date by completing annual CPD requirements and passing the annual assessment.
Work closely with the Workshop Controller and Service Advisors to ensure vehicles are completed efficiently and on time.
Deliver a consistently high standard of workmanship while contributing positively to the workshop team.
Requirements:
Qualified to
Level 3 NVQ
,
City & Guilds
or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
Valid MOT Testing Licence
is preferred (applications from qualified Technicians looking to gain their MOT licence may also be considered).
Previous experience working within an automotive workshop.
Strong mechanical knowledge and attention to detail.
Own tools are essential.
Full UK Driving Licence with no more than six penalty points.
Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
