We're seeking a proactive and customer-focused Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our team delivering facilities management services at the Basingstoke Council Offices. This role offers a great mix of planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, minor project work, and opportunities to contribute to service improvements across a prestigious local authority contract.

The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on electrical and building services systems.
• Perform statutory inspections, testing and maintenance activities.
• Deliver minor electrical installation and improvement works.
• Support the delivery of small projects and lifecycle works.
• Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Supervise specialist subcontractors and ensure works are completed safely and to a high standard.
• Manage permits to work and ensure site compliance procedures are followed.
• Complete maintenance records and CAFM tasks accurately and on time.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with the client and building occupants.
• Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
• Support wider engineering activities when required.

About You

You'll be a practical problem solver who takes pride in their work and enjoys working as part of a professional team.

Essential

• Recognised qualification such as electrical(City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities management.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working on electrical systems and building services plant.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
• Experience using CAFM systems.
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. or working to towards
• Inspection and Testing qualification.
• Mechanical building services knowledge.
• Experience managing subcontractors and permit systems.
