Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 4:30pm-1:00am
Location: Lancashire
We're currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business in Lancashire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a business with exciting expansion plans and play a key role in maintaining and improving a busy manufacturing operation.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of production equipment, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance and minimising downtime across the site.
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively to minimise production downtime.
- Support production teams to maximise line availability, efficiency and output.
- Identify recurring machinery faults and proactively implement solutions to improve reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, maintenance activities and PPMs.
- Support machinery upgrades, improvement projects and wider site development.
- Manage spare parts requirements and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Carry out general building and ancillary maintenance where required.
- Communicate technical issues effectively with production and other departments.
- Work to strict food safety, hygiene, health & safety and GMP standards.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised Level 3 engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Strong experience in both electrical and mechanical fault finding and maintenance.
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing, FMCG or similar fast-paced production environment.
- Good knowledge of machinery safety, isolation procedures and LOTO.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations where applicable.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Experience with PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding/fabrication, refrigeration, compressed air or other site services would be advantageous.
