The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team within a busy manufacturing environment.
This is a mechanically biased maintenance role (approximately 70% Mechanical / 30% Electrical), ideal for an engineer with a strong mechanical maintenance background who also has good fundamental electrical knowledge.
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of production machinery, ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.
Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Planned and reactive maintenance of production machinery and equipment Mechanical fault finding, repair and preventative maintenance Working with chains, belts and bearings Maintenance of pumps, valves and hydraulic systems Working with pneumatic systems and conveyors Maintenance and fault finding on injection moulding machines Maintenance and fault finding on blow moulding machines Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently
Electrical Skills
Although the role is mechanically biased, candidates should have a good working knowledge of basic electrical systems, including:
Sensors Relays Drives and inverters Star/Delta motor systems Basic electrical wiring and control panels PLC inputs and outputs Electrical fault finding
Experience & Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent minimum Strong mechanical maintenance experience Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment Good understanding of electrical maintenance and fault finding Electrical qualifications are highly desirable Experience with injection and/or blow moulding machinery would be advantageous A proactive approach to fault finding and preventative maintenance Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering teamBackground: Open to candidates from a range of manufacturing and engineering backgrounds, provided they have the relevant maintenance experience and technical skills.

Engineering Team
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager Engineering team of approximately 15 engineers Supportive and well-established engineering function
Working Hours & Shift Pattern
This is a rotating 4-week Panama shift pattern, working 12-hour shifts. Covering 6-6 for 2 weeks and 11-11 for 2 weeks (No Nights)
The shift pattern provides two weekends off every month.
