Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Nights
Sheffield | Up to £50,000 + 30% night shift premium (up to £65,000) | Permanent | 37.5 hours | 22:00–06:15 | Early Friday finish
Cubiq Recruitment is working with a leading global aerospace OEM to recruit a Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for its advanced manufacturing facility in Sheffield.
This is a senior, hands-on position working with high-tech CNC machinery and production equipment. You'll take the lead on complex breakdowns, preventative maintenance, reliability improvements and root cause investigations, while remaining heavily involved in day-to-day maintenance.
The role
*
Diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
*
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair CNC machinery and associated production equipment
*
Develop and improve preventative and condition-based maintenance programmes
*
Lead root cause investigations into recurring or high-impact equipment failures
*
Carry out machine installation, alignment, calibration, commissioning and upgrades
*
Fault find using engineering drawings, electrical schematics and PLC/HMI documentation
*
Lead equipment reliability and continuous improvement projects
*
Coordinate complex repairs and upgrades with engineering teams and suppliers
*
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers and technicians
What we're looking for
You'll be an experienced maintenance engineer from a CNC machining, precision engineering, aerospace, automotive or similar manufacturing environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
*
7+ years' post-apprenticeship maintenance experience
*
Strong CNC machine maintenance and fault-finding experience
*
Multi-skilled experience with a strong electrical bias
*
Advanced mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding capability
*
PLC and HMI fault-finding experience
*
Experience leading root cause investigations and reliability improvements
*
Level 3 apprenticeship, HNC/HND, degree or equivalent engineering qualification
Experience with FANUC and/or Siemens systems, PLC programming, IOSH Managing Safely or an AS9100 aerospace environment would be useful.
