Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – 12-hour days and nights
The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in Liverpool.
Working as part of a supportive engineering team, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production machinery. You will be responsible for identifying faults, responding to breakdowns and completing preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
This position would suit a genuinely multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical fault-finding abilities and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across production equipment.
- Responding quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns.
- Completing electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs.
- Identifying recurring faults and supporting permanent improvements.
- Contributing to continuous improvement and reliability projects.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with engineering procedures.
- Working closely with production and engineering colleagues to minimise downtime.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised electrical engineering qualification.
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience completing planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ability to work a 4 on, 4 off days-and-nights shift pattern.
- A good understanding of health and safety within an engineering environment.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or high-volume production.
- PLC fault-finding experience, including working with inputs and outputs.
- Experience using PPM or computerised maintenance management systems.
- Involvement in continuous improvement or machinery reliability projects.
