Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Burnley | Permanent | £40,000 Basic + Overtime (OTE £49,000+)
Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a leading manufacturing business with excellent earning potential, modern equipment and genuine long-term career development?
Our client is a well-established manufacturing company investing heavily in automation, robotics and advanced production technology. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team on a permanent basis.
With a basic salary of £40,000 per annum, regular overtime is readily available every week, giving realistic earnings of £49,000+ per year.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of production machinery and automated manufacturing equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing equipment.
Respond quickly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
Fault find and repair PLC-controlled machinery.
Maintain, fault find and repair welding robots and automated production equipment.
Support the installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of new machinery.
Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
Diagnose faults on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Carry out root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high engineering standard.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the engineering department.
What We're Looking For
Completed Engineering Apprenticeship (Essential)
Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong electrical fault-finding skills
Mechanical maintenance experience
PLC fault finding experience
Experience maintaining automated production machinery
Experience with robotics, welding robots or automated manufacturing equipment would be highly advantageous
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
