Questech Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing business in the Wakefield area for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.
Location: Ossett, West Yorkshire Salary: £47,500 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday – 6:00am–2:00pm / 2:00pm–10:00pm, alternating
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically and mechanically skilled engineer looking to join a well-established manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery and site equipment.
- Respond efficiently to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Carry out electrical fault finding, testing and repairs safely and effectively.
- Maintain and repair motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings and associated equipment.
- Work on electrical systems including control panels, sensors, contactors, relays and three-phase systems.
- Support the installation, modification and commissioning of machinery.
- Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements to equipment reliability.
- Record PPMs, breakdowns, work orders, parts usage and completed maintenance accurately using the CMMS system.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects.
Skills & Experience Required
- Recognised engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent.
- Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance.
Desirable Experience
Any of the following would be advantageous:
- Previous experience within the textile industry or textile manufacturing machinery.
- Experience using a CMMS for PPMs, breakdowns and maintenance records.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- PLC and basic controls fault finding.
- Experience with inverters/VSDs, sensors and control systems.
- Pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance.
- Welding and fabrication skills
