Multi Skilled Technician – Biomass CHP
£44,000 – £48,000 + benefits
Lincoln, Lincolnshire
SCINERGY Recruitment are looking for several Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians with an electrical bias to join a biomass power-generation facility near Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
Working as part of the maintenance and production team, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, repair and improve plant equipment, support commissioning activities and help maximise safety, reliability, quality and production efficiency.
Key responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance across the plant to minimise downtime
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults on industrial equipment
Respond safely and effectively to production breakdowns and identify potential failures before they occur
Service and maintain conveyors, pellet presses, hammer mills, dryers, motors, drives, gearboxes, pumps, valves, fans and associated equipment
Support PLC fault-finding across automated production systems
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
Complete maintenance records and work orders accurately and assist with engineering spares and consumables
Work closely with the production team and contribute to continuous-improvement projects that increase productivity and reduce costs
Ensure all maintenance work complies with company procedures and site health, safety, quality and environmental standards
Skills and experience
A recognised electrical or mechanical engineering apprenticeship with an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification
At least three years’ maintenance experience in a heavy-industrial process environment such as power, waste, biomass, manufacturing, chemical, paper or cement
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding knowledge covering industrial systems, motors and drives
A good understanding of PLCs, automated plant and the ability to read engineering drawings and maintenance manuals
Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
A reliable, organised and safety-conscious approach, with the flexibility to support overtime and emergency breakdowns when required
Salary and benefits
£44,000 – £48,000 depending on experience
