Job Description
Multi-Trade Operative (Carpentry & Plumbing) Location: Berkshire Salary: Competitive + Van + Fuel Card + Benefits Contract: Permanent, Full Time We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join a busy property maintenance team delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services across residential properties. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with strong carpentry and plumbing experience who takes pride in delivering first-class workmanship and outstanding customer service.
The Role
As a Multi-Trade Operative, you will undertake a wide variety of repairs and maintenance tasks within occupied and void residential properties, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Typical duties will include: Carpentry repairs and maintenance works Plumbing repairs and installations Basic masonry, tiling and associated multi-trade tasks Carrying out repairs within occupied and void properties Diagnosing faults and identifying effective repair solutions Completing works in line with building regulations and industry best practice Ensuring jobs are completed right first time wherever possible Maintaining excellent customer relationships and providing a professional service Recording all work accurately using handheld devices and job management systems Ordering materials and maintaining van stock levels Ensuring company vehicles, tools and equipment are maintained and used safely Participating in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota when required What We're Looking For NVQ Level 2 or above in Carpentry, Plumbing, Maintenance Operations or a related trade (or equivalent time-served experience) Proven experience working as a Multi-Trade Operative Strong carpentry and plumbing skills Experience carrying out repairs and maintenance across residential properties Ability to undertake a range of non-core trade activities Strong customer service and communication skills Experience using smartphones, tablets or electronic job management systems Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
Experience working within social housing, responsive repairs or planned maintenance Knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SOR) Additional trade skills including tiling, plastering or masonry repairs
